Trying to instal OCS 2007 on Windows Server 2008 RC0 ? Doesn’t work, same with Exchange 2007 ….

Microsoft has announced the availability of Windows Server 2008 release candidate (RC0) to the public. This release includes the pre-release version of Windows Server Virtualization (WSV) codename Viridian and Windows Media Services 2008.
You can download it from the Microsoft website. The download links for the various versions of Server 2008 RC0 contain both the 32-Bit and 64-Bit downloads. The Viridian hypervisor is included in the 64-Bit editions of Server 2008.

Also, available: Windows Server 2008 Step-by-Step Guides and Windows Server 2008 Technical Overviews.

So, I have tried to install Office Communications Server 2007 onto the latest Windows Server 2008 distribution, but unfortunately, OCS doesn’t recognize Server 2008!

Failed installation of OCS 2007 on Window Server 2008

Same issue with the release to manufacturing (RTM) version of Exchange 2007 that cannot be installed on Windows Server 2008.

However, Microsoft says that Exchange 2007 Service Pack 1 will be supported for installation on Windows Server 2008.

Do we have to wait for OCS SP1 for installing on Windows Server 2008 ?
